Acer Aspire One D150 review The screen on offer here is of a very similar size to many netbooks at 10.1” (25.5cm). This one, though, is bright and colourful, with only a limited amount of apparent horizontal colour distortion. The glossy finish of the machine may cause some issues, irrespective of the colour you pick. There is also a 0.3 megapixel webcam on offer for video calls. The speakers, however, fail to match up to the impressive screen. In terms of hardware the Acer Aspire One D150 is similar to many netbooks, offering 1.6GHz of processing power, 1GB of RAM and 160GB of hard drive. For connectivity, there is a VGA outlet, three USB ports, Wireless-G WiFi and 10/100 Fast Ethernet. Unlike some netbooks though, the D150 has Bluetooth 2.0 for mobile phone connections. The keyboard is reasonable enough for those doing a lot of typing work, however the touchpad and rocker combination isn’t ideal; the touchpad is small and the rocker can come across as not being sensitive enough, needing a hard press to register a click. The battery life is fairly long, this being due to the battery being large. It has the side effect of making the D150 a bit heavy. Summary Overall, the Acer Aspire One D150 netbook is a decent machine for the price, however for a little more money there are better netbooks available. |
